My daughter is already planning her birthday party for next summer. She cracks me up with her antics because she does this every year. She barely finishes up with one birthday and she is already working on the next one. I know she is a planner, I just haven't figured out where she gets it. The first time she planned a party this way she was 5 and a few days after her fifth birthday she started making plans for her 6th birthday, I thought she would change her mind about it, but she didn't a whole year later and she still wanted the same party, that year it was a princess party. Well, she just had a luau party for her 10th birthday, and sure enough about a week after it, she started talking about how she wants to have a skate party for her next birthday. She even goes as far as to plan everything in advance. First she comes up with a theme and then she begins to get together a list of foods and games and party supplies she will need. She is so thorough that it is a bit surprising to me, but it is really very impressive. She already has together a list of what she will need for her skating party and that includes glow sticks and glow necklaces, of course. She has decided that she doesn't want to have it at the skate rink however, she wants to have it on our back patio, which should definitely make it a bit more interesting. She has even gone online to research theme parties and to get some good ideas. The one great thing about how organized she is about it, is that it gives me plenty of time to come up with great ideas and get incredible deals on the stuff I will need. She is definitely a character, there is no doubt about it, but I really enjoy her enthusiasm and at least one of us is an advance planner. It does help that she is as together as she is, at least it keeps me on the ball, that's for sure.
