There is a growing need today for all sorts of jobs in the medical field. Of the most in demand jobs are those of medical assistants and pharmacy techs. I have been doing a lot of research lately trying to decide on a career path. Choosing something that you want to do for the rest of your life, can be a difficult choice. Sure you can always change your mind at a later date, but I don't want to be one of those people still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life at 40, that just seems like a waste. I know that I love to help people and with the labor statistics on pharma techs that I just read, I think a job in this field would be just right for me. I have a lot of respect for pharmacists, as they have to have a great amount of knowledge about what they are doing. They are always available for consult on a moments notice, and they really do keep people safe, by closely monitoring the medications that they are on, and these days with so many different meds, that can't be an easy task. I have also read that those people who are graduating from Pharmacy Technician Training are getting a really good starting salary, and that is important in these times. All I know is that no matter how bad the economy gets, people will still be taking medication and that means if nothing else, job security.
When I told my dad what I was going to go to school for, he thought it was a great idea and said that he had just read in the newspaper about the growing needs in the medical field and how the needs are only expected to increase over the next 5 years. He said I really had my thinking cap on, and that he is glad to hear that I am making such a wise investment in my future. I am really glad that he is onboard with my decision, it really makes me feel like I am making a good decision.
