Merry Study Abroad!
Yes, the holiday season has definitely arrived! "What presents are under the tree this year for VCU students?" you ask. First of all, a very well-deserving young lady just received news yesterday of a very generous scholarship...
Nahid Koohkanrizi, a sophomore Theatre major at VCU who will be studying abroad at the University of Ghana next semester, was notified yesterday that she is the recipient of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. The Gilman scholarship http://www.iie.org//programs/gilman/index.html is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is a VERY big honor. Congratulations Nahid! You've made us proud!
Secondly, our summer programs are beginning to be announced on our website. Take a look if you haven't already: http://www.vcu.edu/oie/eao_ss/index.html
Thirdly, it appears we will be moving soon! After a whole year in room 204 of the Millhiser house, our "temporary" space, we will be moving to a much more spacious location within the same building and probably on the same floor. When? Maybe before the summer, but I'm hoping before the New Year. We will keep you updated as to where we end up when we move.
One last thing- after Friday, you can come by the office to pick up the scholarship application packets for the 2007-2008 VCU Education Abroad Scholarship competition.
So many good things- it's just like Christmas!
