Position Description
This position will assist in all administrative duties to ensure the smooth functioning of the office of Education Abroad. This is an hourly, non-benefited position with some flexibility in the scheduled hours to begin immediately for remainder of spring semester with strong possibility of continuing into the summer and next school year based on performance.
Wage: $7.00/hour Hours: 15-20 hours per week
The functions of this position will include, among others:
1. Providing front-line support for VCU Education Abroad
2. Application processing
3. Inter-office delivery and pick-up
4. Creating international student identification cards
5. Posting promotional materials around campus
6. Maintaining hard copy files
7. Organizing resource library and supply area
8. Answering phones and greeting visitors
9. Creating promotional materials for on-campus use
10. Representing office during open houses and other events
11. Faxing, photocopying, mailings, and other administrative duties as assigned
12. Other projects as assigned
Qualifications
• Current student with experience abroad
• Office experience required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to self-manage
• Cross-cultural sensitivity
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with designing promotional materials a plus
• Work-study applicant a plus
