The campus deadline for applying to the Gilman Scholarship is Tuesday September 22, 2009. All interested students should submit their essay to a study abroad advisor for review. Visit the Gilman website for more information regarding the application process.
The Gilman Scholarship aims to diversify and expand participation in international study by awarding grants of up to $5,000 to undergraduate students who have been traditionally under-represented in education abroad. Feel free to contact us at abroad@vcu.edu or 804-827-7882.
Eligibility Criteria
- U.S. Citizen
- Undergraduate in good standing
- Pell Grant Recipient at the time of application
- Is applying to or has been accepted to a university approved, undergraduate credit-eligible program of study abroad.
- May study in any country worldwide with the exception of Cuba and those countries currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning
- Program must be a minimum of four weeks.
