Federal Government Reports Significant Hiring Increases

Most employers decreased the number of new college graduates they planned to hire between August and October. Only government as a sector saw a significant increase in hiring expectations, while manufacturing and professional services remain essentially flat during this period of economic turmoil. Gilman Scholarship for Study Abroad

On Tuesday, Feb 17, 2009, the Education Abroad Office and the Honors College are having an information session for the Gilman International Scholarship. Federal Pell Grant recipients, studying abroad in the fall of 2009, are encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Marketing Internship Opportunity

Marketing Internship

Pay = $15-$18 per hour
This person will work with a cross functional team to support marketing projects for wellness and disease management. Assist with development and review of communication materials with multiple functional areas, brand management, implementing market-specific communication plans, development of sales collateral and presentation resources, market research, and traffic and production management. He/she will perform other duties as assigned. The position calls for between 20 and 40 hours per week, with the potential to continue working a reduced workload during the school year. We are looking to fill this position immediately.

To be considered for the Marketing Internship each candidate MUST meet the following requirements:
Be a rising undergraduate 4th year/senior, graduate school or MBA candidate.
At least 2 years of credits toward Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Communications, or Healthcare Management/Administration degree.
Possess strong information processing and problem solving skills.
Be an effective communicator (both written and oral).
Be organized and able to demonstrate a track record of completing assigned tasks.
Expert computer skills with strengths in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel as well as knowledge of graphic design tools/programs/software are a plus.
Ability to work autonomously.
Positive and outgoing attitude.
