Infant bath products may contain trace amounts of cancer-causing chemicals.

"More than half the baby shampoo, lotion, and other infant care products analyzed by a health advocacy group were found to contain trace amounts of two chemicals that are believed to cause cancer." Comment: Another headline from an activist group. However there is no description of the amount that is labeled a trace. Almost all manufactured compounds have traces of some chemical, but these traces are usually measured in parts per billion or less. At these levels there is no evidence that they are harmful but activist groups are more interested in headlines than science, while the gullible public buys into almost anything that is published. State health departments are then forced to call on federal agencies who have the money, to prove that there is no harm, yet one cannot prove the absence if ill effect so once more money that could have been spent to combat known dangers is frittered away because of media desires for publicity.
