Indian Embusy

oh my yesterday what a day.. i had a lovely time at the indian embassy up in DC... so my mom and I get at the embassy around 8:45, and they let us in and at 9:30 we are the first ones in line so we get up there... and well the evil south indian teller, tells my mom "No Checks or Credit Cards, only Cash" lol so we were like what hah. so my mom and I end up walkin 5-6 long blocks which takes us about and hour and 15 mins... oh this is a long story

then we wait another hour.... so we finally go back to the window around 11:30 or 11:40, then the lady says come back or rahter demands us to come back around 4:30... so well my mom and i wait, inside our car.... which is parked beside a really nice mosque...... and well as soon as i wondered whether or not they read namaaz on friday, the Immam comes on the loud speaker and reads it.... it was quite peaceful, it last for a good 30 mins.... but i was also listening to sukhmani on my iPod, b/c there was an islamic woman who was begging for money at the corner of the mosque, and she would plea to people in arabic to give her money, and as soon as they would walk away from her, she would curse them...

i was like my oh my, it would be better on her behalf if she rahter just went to mosque and read namaaz....

so well finally 3 hours of sitting it finalyl turns 3:30 so we sit outside the embassy now... and i got to look @ the taraanga, the indian flag... for a good 45 mins... then well finally at 4:30 the doors open and we indians bumrush the door, and they don't come to the window till around :4:40... then we finally get the visas till about 4:50

then we had to wait antoher 5 mins for my affidavidt oh man it truely sucked but now i can got to india for any 10 years HHAHAH boohoohaha
unrestricted access fo sheezey......

The Journey of a Legal Observant...

Well this is kinda of old news... about 8 months old.... but I found it yesterday.... its still rather relavent. This Article which is on , was written by a friend of mine, Ms. Valarie Kaur, and her troubles with the NYPD. She was a legal oberservor, watch and record the actions of all law enforcement officers. The presence of legal observers helps keep people safe by discouraging police attacks. Also, the information you collect can be useful in criminal defense of protesters or in suing police or other government agencies. ,taken from
The Uhc-collective . Even thou she was one, she was still detained with the actvist. She speaks of her horrible treatment...

YOUth

well as prez for sikh club i need to think of some cool events.... also i need to think up ideas for youth discussino for camp this summer.... so far sunmit, sumeet, & puneet gave good ideas... the "extended" part will cover possible ideas. for both...

Youth Discussions
• Puneet suggested that... well what they had was as simple as dating with in religion, - you know bout - if sikhs should only go out with sikhs - "under theory" or idealistically it should... but now if you look at it is not... if you think bout it, why this is such an issuse is that well the future generation will not be sikh.... but i reckon that this will be all up to Waheguru....

• but also a sardar and sardarni seems like a natural fit, and look like a
swell couple, you know ~> kinda of like Beauty & the Beast type

• Sunmit, recommended how Sikhs, the ones caught in the dispora, being influenced by their surroundings and succumb to it. by succumbing they end up trading up wthie beard/hair and crown for drugs and alcohol. and have no clue of their roots...

yeah so then stuff for USA'.
• 84' dinner, ok yeah thats weak
• oh USA & MSA doin' a forum oh the Human RIghts in India ha! i'd like that alot, covering the 84'anti-sikh riots then 01' with anti-muslim riots in gurjat...

• not to sure after this

gurdwara :/

well i was at gurdwara, it was kinda downer no one was there. and well at least the kids got to keertan. but the sad part isthat well i got there at 11:30AM and they were still reading jap ji sahib, they aren't even tryin to enough amritvela time any more... but i wonder.. bout the punjabi language and gurdwara

i wonder since Sikhi is about reaching to all types of people, why are we still only using punjabi when the bhai sahibs and gyanis and jathedhaars speak to the sangaat. I mean i think its for the youth, b/c i often hear that bani looses its "zeal" or coolness when translated in to english but i beg to differ, b/c i've heard some veeaakhas in english and they move people to tears. i mean if its for the adults thats sad b/c if you think bout it, if you haven't figured out sikhi by you've hit lets say 40 - 50 i think you are kinda lost. i mean if you can't figure that you aren' supposed to drink and such... than why bother going to sangaat you know eh i dunno i guess thats me ranting buti mean look at the youth, surely if their parents had learned alot from goin to gurdwara, they would of passed it on to their kids....

at the same time if punjabi was key, than the SIkhs in punjab would not be in the state that they are in now... theywould not be alcoholics nor would they take up other types of drugs.... they would all be amritdhaaris, and would act like tru khalsas... just a thought....

VCU Bhangra Politics

well its appears right now i'm on my 2nd or third allnighter, with about 2-3 hours of sleep. these days are running together and it is hard to distinguish....

what an interesting night, let see so like someone on the bhangra team showed me a link to a Blog , run by a couple of People on MSA or at least associated with them. The author "Blades" writes about how Bhangra Blowout ruined his conference in NY. and he was apparently upset at the fact that half of this crew went to Blowout instead of the conference, I can understand his concern. but then again he goes on some tangent, ranting against Bhangra, and how its stupid and they can't dance and such. he also became very critizing of the Hindu population too... i got kinda upset at him, not at him but rahter his ego, so instead of following the traits of the other people who replied, in not such a nice manner. I tried a religious angle and i tried to well make him realize that he should control his ego, and that well i quote Guru Arjan Dev Ji on how a true Muslim should be.... it was this

To be Muslim is to be kind-hearted,
and wash away pollution from within the heart.
dunee-aa rang na aavai nayrhai ji-o kusam paat ghi-o paak haraa. ||13||
He does not even approach worldly pleasures; he is pure, like flowers, silk, ghee and the deer-skin. ||13||
One who is blessed with the mercy and compassion of the Merciful Lord,
is the manliest man among men.
He alone is a Shaykh, a preacher, a Haji, and he alone is God's slave, who is blessed with God's Grace. ||14||
-Guru Arjun Dev Ji page 1084 in SGGS

i hope i did not over cross my boundaries, but i will see what other say....
not to sure...
oh dear now i have to get back on my paper...
take care

i'm that guy

ha i'm the reason why sardars are losers...

ha! i guess really if one thought about it, the only reason why "sardars" are portraied as losers is b/c well we either turned our back on our Guru, or we turned our back on our nitnem... those are my thoughts.. back to work.. slowly slaving away.... hmm but i wonder which makes a sikh cooler?
1- a sikh that gets drunk then stabbed or in a fight @ the afterparty...
2- a sikh that can do paath and bani, and can meet waheguru?

i'd say the latter fo sheezy haha
but those are my thoughts...

Journals?

Hmm well i'm currently frantically finishing up my journals, oh wiat i got my powerbook back butit wont boot up i'm praying that its just the 'power supply" but who exactly knows. and apparently i went to the apple store and that Tom guy was not there, so i guess or reckon he got fired... man i dont' feel bad b/c i think working a job with Retail, you have a certain obligation to your customers, and if you can't fufill that fufillment then you are not quliafied for that job you know? well dont' get me wrogn he knew alot but well none of hte info really helped. me, in fact it made it worse....

but i mean well i guess when he would recommend me something it would turn out to make my computer worse off. grr well i gotta get back to workk...
it won't boot
