The reading “how others see us” is really an eye opening assignment. In assets it shows that Americans are too into themselves to be really connected to anyone else. Americans are to hung up in relationships, breaking away from their parents, themselves, groups (the only way to be with other people is to share a common hobby) , and they brake up work, play, hanging out it, and partying into sections where as other countries have different cultural aspects, they think partying is something you do not an event it’s more lade back. Also relationships between parents and kids are different than America and other countries. In other countries when kids throw a party the parents are there in the mix adult kids what ever it doesn’t really matter. Here its “ let throw a party, my parents are away.” American teenagers cut off adults where as other countries don’t. Also It’s interesting the interactions from international students have to say about American students. They say that Americans are more friendly and but more individualized. The word friend came up a lot in the reading. What makes a friend? American friends to international students are flimsy and not “true.” Or in other wards not really lasting.
I have to agree with some of the article as being the norm for Americans but “how others see us” isn’t blatantly how Americans act. It dose help to have a common hobby even if its just to see a movie. It’s a way to break the ice. I suppose no one in America takes the indicative to meet new people through school. I mean I moved a lot so I had to rebuild my life I suppose four times. I moved four times in my high school years. But I meet a lot of my friends threw classes.
But I think it would be neat to eat with my whole class at Shafer or something. Sometimes it can be so awkward in classrooms. I suppose it’s also the people too. And I heard partying overseas is some much better than here. One, kids can drink which eliminates the animosity American kids have to adults, it’s a barrier adults put up to exclude kids. Even though it is for their own benefit, kids shut down parents out of there life because they can’t do everything an adult can do legally so they resort to illegally and they seclude their parents because they denied them something, because they aren’t “mature enough.” I heard in Germany they have October fest every weekend where they just give you beer and all ages join in to have a good time. My friend visits there sometimes, one time when she visited their she sees a girl no more than fourteen pushing beer back.
Well cheers to the future. Hopefully Americans can lower the drinking age. I know a lot of people drive so it’s not likely everyone will catch a cab if they get drunk. But that’s not the case here. Alcohol is fine for there countries but American who are under 21 can die for their country but can’t go into a bar and drink a cold one, because there not responsible enough according to the USA. Apparently killing is less responsible than drinking.
Totally when off topic my bad.
