On the Road to NIH Funding: Reducing Health Disparities through Basic, Clinical, and Applied Research

The Center for Clinical and Translational Research (CCTR) in the VCU Office of Research, the Institute of Women's Health (IWH), and the Center on Health Disparities are pleased to present a one-day workshop for junior faculty interested in health disparities research.

This event features:

• Presentations from six NIH Institutes
• National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)
• National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
• National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR)
• National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)
• National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
• National Cancer Institute (NCI)
• Lunch roundtable sessions with NIH staff
• Discussion about VCU research resources available to faculty investigators

This workshop which gives investigators the chance to meet in small groups with NIH staff will be especially helpful to junior faculty who are currently working toward submitting an application for federal funding for health disparities research.
