PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Serve as the primary designer for multimedia projects assigned by the Coordinator of Community & Public Relations. Assist in the development and design of content for varied communications efforts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, public relations, journalism or related field; Two years of experience in design, publications, public relations and/or communications; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; Demonstrate proficiency of software utilized for design and development of multimedia content; Demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills; Demonstrate correct use of English grammar, spelling and punctuation; Demonstrate ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, as well as with others, complete projects and meet deadlines; Ability to follow oral and written instructions, report information and maintain records. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Demonstrate professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel and members of the community; Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and reach when working with personal computer equipment, peripherals, and associated electronic network equipment and to lift twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted

NECESSARY AND SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to meet minimum, necessary and special qualifications and perform each essential performance responsibility satisfactorily. The essential performance responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities, who are otherwise qualified, to perform the essential functions.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Create multimedia content for division external and internal web pages, division publications, YCSD-TV 47 projects, community outreach efforts, and other communications materials
•Create graphic images, take and manipulate digitized photographs using appropriate software
•Assist in the production of multimedia presentations for campaigns and special events
•Design, update and maintain division forms using Word, PageMaker and Adobe Acrobat
•Exercise discretion and independent judgment in selecting content features and attributes of the School Division Intranet and the School Division web site based on user specifications
•Perform other duties as assigned by Coordinator of Community and Public Relations
•Model non-discriminatory behavior at all times and follows established safe work practices
• Follow established YCSD policies and procedures at all time
