To provide graphic and desktop-publishing services, multimedia development, e-communication, and website management and maintenance services.  The individual works directly with the Director of Communications and with others on staff to manage the website and other forms of electronic media, produce weekly service bulletins, special service bulletins, provide back up on bulletin insert, provide power point presentations and other visual or audio visual presentations as needed.

 

The position requires:

 

o       Ability to apply the principles of visual design.

o       Ability to maintain website including design, content, graphics, and photography.  

o       Knowledge of software, hardware, and peripheral devices used for electronic & print communications.

o       Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

o       Ability to prepare artwork and documents for final digital output.

o       Knowledge of multimedia systems, techniques, and technologies, layout skills, artistic text, photos, graphics, and illustrations. 

o       Ability to gather information with regard to content and function of the Intranet and Internet. 

o       Maintain current awareness of emerging technologies and the use of social networks.

o       Performance of other duties that may be assigned by the Rector, Vicar, Director of Communications, or Associate for Operations & Development.

Job Requirements: Candidate will work closely with the President and Chief Operating Officer to redesign, develop, and implement solutions for existing website.  In addition, candidate should be a computer science, graphic, or information systems (MIS, BIS) major, or have knowledge of HTML, with working knowledge of PHP, and have the ability to work in PC environments.

 

Candidate will be asked to do the following:
-Create design prototypes including site navigation, and content layout for corporate website
-Conduct usability, accessibility, browser, and user acceptance testing of web applications
Utilize HTML, xHTML, and CSS to maintain the websites

Candidate will be asked to do the following:
-Create design prototypes content layout for a variety of marketing promotional products (logos, web related materials, forms, etc.)

 -Update print collateral
-Utilize Illustrator to implement changes

Purpose:
Assist in developing marketing materials for the Surface Protection business unit and positioning the business as the premium provider of value-added products, capabilities and services in the industry.

Primary Duties:
• Assist in identifying the best media(s) to communicate the attributes of Tredegar's Surface Protection products.  Options could include print media (brochures, newsletters), web sites, and electronic messages.

• Assist in creating marketing materials for each media and developing a unified branding strategy for the portfolio of Surface Protection products.

• Oversee the evaluation of vendors that will create the printed materials.  

• Identify and prioritize opportunities for Surface Protection by examining and researching previous sample requests received over the past two years for the Surface Protection business. The results of this will be used to identify new target customers and potential applications for Tredegar's Surface Protection films.

Skills and Qualifications:

Job Description:

Co-op Requirements: Our co-op program requires an individual be a full-time college student, have a formal arrangement with their academic institution, and be able to alternate full-time work and school semesters. The student may alternate between work and study for two or more terms.

Description:
Student will maintain and care for all camera and studio photographic equipment. This includes a full compliment of digital, 35mm, medium-format, and large-format cameras. This also includes an inventory of lenses, studio & portable flash equipment, location equipment and in-house printers. Student will become familiar with and learn how to use all camera equipment and accessories. Student may check out equipment for personal jobs to facilitate this learning process. Student may be required to perform or assist with location and/or studio photography.

Student will maintain an image database in order to fill photographic requests. This includes image storage/retrieval procedures, along with associated filing and record keeping. Student will scan negative and positive images, retouch and prepare images for printing. Photoshop skills are required. Student will gain insight into and practice a digital workflow. He/she must work closely with Imaging Manager, photographers, archivist and graphic designers.
The student will learn large-format scanning of maps, blueprints and posters. He/she will also learn to use large-format inkjet printers for making large display prints and signage.

Student is responsible for ordering and maintaining a working inventory of all expendables such as film, printing papers, inks, binding & laminating supplies, large-format printer supplies, dye-sub printer and photographic accessories. Student may be required to coordinate with outside vendors.

Students will greet customers, take work requests and follow jobs through to completion. Student will also assist customers in usage of high-speed color printer.

Skills:
Must be familiar with and preferably have a working knowledge of:
Adobe Photoshop Photo retouching, composite editing and color management Scanning, both film & flatbed, archiving (asset management), printing and copying Windows XP Must understand the relationship between shutter speed, ISO and f-stop Must be familiar with both digital & film formats, plus medium and large-format cameras Location/Studio/Product/Portraiture/Copy-Work Must have positive communication and superior organizational skills, be mature, motivated, highly productive, and able to maintain a positive attitude. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Requires aptitude for computer-graphic applications.

Prefer:
Communication Art or Visual Arts candidates, with emphasis in photography, and at least a 2.8 GPA overall and 3.0 in major. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment.
