Candidates must have graduated by 05/09 and will begin as an Asst. Sales Manager in one of the NC or Virginia Stores. Candidates' location preferences will be considered. Candidates will undergo a training period of approximately 3-6 months and once successfully completed, will be promoted to a Sales Manager. ASSISTANT DESIGNER
In this challenging role, you will work with the Design team from inception to production for Avenue women’s sportswear
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist Designer in line development from initial development to production
* Create initial line body sheets and update on a weekly basis
* Sketch all styles on Illustrator and import to PDM to create tech packs
* Assign style numbers
* Assemble line and hang samples for Line Reviews/Final Assortments
* Produce seasonal Power Point presentations
* Prepare concept boards
* Assist in maintenance of sample closet & library
* Assorted design projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
* Degree in fashion design and at least 1 year experience working on a design team
* Ability to design and sketch. Basic understanding of garment construction; strong design and color sensibility; product and fabric knowledge required
* Proficiency in Web PDM, Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Lotus Notes preferred
* Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills
* Team player and ability to multi task; must have sense of urgency when necessary
