Overall Objective: Development of an expressive, spontaneous, free body

Class objective:
To explore basic fundamental body connections and applications to related movement skills in the acting programme

Areas of BESS to be explored:
Body - specific emphasis on introducing the Fundamentals and fundamental body connections
Space - define sagittal, vertical, horizontal dimensions and direction of motion
LMA principles:
Core vs Distal initiation
Dimensional movement: Sagittal, Frontal (Vertical), Horizontal
3D breathing - breath support
Fundamental principles on the body level:
-neutral spine
-heel/sitz bone connection
-head/tail connection
-core support
-push/reach developmental pattern
-initiating femoral flexion
-propulsion from lower-push from upper
-upper and lower body initiations - crescent, c-curve, the shrimp

Class activities:
3 dimensional breathing
Head tail connection - Sitting, lying, standing, crawling
Identify anatomy of hip socket
Developmental push/reach action with head/tail connection
Find big X position - core connecting to distal ends
Changing level from all 4's to standing
Push hands with partner /stage combat

Practical applications:
Awareness of self in everyday activities
Application to stage combat skills
