punk rock conferences

Travel across the city or across the world to attend one of these interesting conferences/symposiums this summer! I know I'm missing a few--this is just a small subset of the set of OR-friendly conferences. Let me know about any obscure ones that may be of interest.

18th Triennial Conference of the International Federation of Operational Research Societies Conference, July 13-18, 2008, South Africa.

--
We would like to bring to your attention the Manufacturing and Service
Operations Management (MSOM) Special Interest Group (SIG) Conference on
Humanitarian and Sustainability Applications.

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) SIG of MSOM will hold its first conference
on June 7, 2008, in Washington DC, following the annual MSOM Conference. The
format will closely follow that of the previous Multi-Echelon (ME)
conferences, with a small number of paper presentations followed by
discussant comments and general discussion.

This year's SCM SIG conference will concentrate on the areas of Sustainable
and Humanitarian Applications of Supply Chain Management. These two topics
reflect the growing awareness in industry of the need to focus on the
"triple bottom line" of profit, social, and environmental objectives.
Preference will be given to papers that are related to the themes below.

Sustainable Operations
Humanitarian Logistics
Security and Disaster Prevention
Environmental/Energy Policy and Its Implications
Closed-Loop Supply Chains

Submissions for full papers are due on January 28, 2008.

For further information or questions, please see the attached flyer or email
the conference organizers at mark.ferguson@mgt.gatech.edu (Mark Ferguson),
pinar@isye.gatech.edu (Pinar Keskinocak) or beril.toktay@mgt.gatech.edu
(Beril Toktay).
