VCU Social Neuroscience Lab - Web Design Internship (PAID)

Name of business: Social Neuroscience Lab, VCU

Type of internship: Web design and execution.

About Us: The VCU Social Neuroscience Lab is run by Kirk Warren Brown, PhD, in the Department of Psychology. We are seeking an intern with solid web design and technical skills who can bring fresh ideas to bear in creating a new laboratory web site.

Primary Duties: Discovery, design, and build. Navigation, graphics, perhaps flash. No online forms, databases, or other interactive applications. The intern will have most of the creative control of this project. Dr. Brown will lay out the basic content and design parameters and supply the text. The intern takes it from there.

Qualifications: Use Macromedia, Adobe Suite, and/or whatever tools you’ve developed some expertise in to create a successful design outcome. Must have own hardware and software. That means you can work from home, the beach, wherever, but be ready to meet briefly with Dr. Brown on a regular (e.g., bi-weekly) or ‘as needed’ basis. Once we’re on the same page re. design, a lot of room to work independently will be offered.

Compensation: Fall term, 2008 internship credit (1-3, depending on your anticipated design and execution time) + 4-figure $ stipend (to be negotiated).
Application: Submit design samples and resume, including reference contacts, to: kwbrown@vcu.edu. Please specify “Web design intern application” in the subject line
