Design Internship

New Rock 102.1 the X - Promotions and Marketing Internship

Description of Organization
New Rock 102.1 the X is an alternative rock station broadcasting in Richmond, Virginia.

Intern Responsibilities
The prospective intern will work directly with the Promotions Director on various promotional projects. Duties will include but not limited to corresponding with local vendors and/or venue organizations, collecting all details and materials necessary to successfully execute each project as well as researching information using online tools and maintaining internal data using Microsoft Office.
This position is a great opportunity for you gain real world experience in marketing, promotions and mass communications. You’ll also learn how a radio station operates from within as you spend time in the different departments.
This will be an unpaid internship available during the fall, spring and summer semesters.

Intern Qualifications
• Must currently be enrolled in an accredited school majoring within a certificate or degree-seeking program, associated with an accredited mentorship program or be associated with a high school internship/mentorship program.
• Must be in good academic standing as determined by the institution.
• Must have an above average knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). HTML knowledge is a plus.
• High attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills are imperative to have in this position.
• Must be able to accommodate a varied and flexible schedule that will include nights and weekend hours.
• People friendly, driven, and pro-active individuals with an outgoing personality who are willing to learn how the different departments interact.

2.) They're also looking for someone to help design/produce a simple brochure.

Just FYI, the website and brochure will target parents and kids that play (boys 10 - 18)

Timing: She's trying to hire someone ASAP.

Compensation: negotiable. I told her even pro bono organizations pay our students some sort of stipend for their work. Once she explains what she wants done, you can tell her how much you'd charge. VA 21 Internship

Virginia21, the country’s first generational advocate for young voters, seeks a communications
intern. The internship begins January 2007.
The intern will have the opportunity to do hands-on work in a fast-paced environment on the
cutting edge of policy and politics in Virginia. Those with interests in education, economic
development and government policy are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Assisting the Communications Director in all areas of media relations from the
organization of press events and press targeting to the development of content for press
releases, talking points, fact sheets and guest editorials.
• Assisting the Communications Director in the management of Virginia21’s website
presence, email contact with membership and maintenance of media lists.
• Assisting the Communications Director with projects related to the 2007 General
Assembly session and June primaries.

POSITION DETAILS:
• Preference will be given to candidates who can participate in the Richmond office.
