Fundraising Coordinator Needed - The Bridge Community Development Corporation

Description:
The Fundraising Coordinator is expected to be the driving force in The Bridge CDC's drive towards self-sufficiency. The Fundraising Coordinator will plan and execute a cross section of strategies and activities designed to generate and sustain revenue. In some cases designing and leading, in others supporting and implementing, the Fundraising Coordinator will collaborate with staff, volunteers and provincial partners to manage the various revenue generating activities. The fundraising Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director, and may manage a staff of volunteers employed to help generate revenue.

Duties:
Fundraising Activities
*Design and implement fundraising events, i.e. auctions, dinners golf tournaments;

Individual Giving
*Plan and coordinate direct donation campaigns targeted to the organization's membership;
*Coordinate appropriate donor recognition and tax donation receipting;
*Develop strategies and procedures for other forms of planned giving, i.e. estate bequests, remainder trusts, gift annuities;

Corporate Giving
*Develop various corporate giving packages and presentations;
*Develop a list of potential corporations and deliver giving presentations;
*Coordinate appropriate donor recognition and tax donation receipting;
*Coordinate necessary giving documentation, servicing and reporting;

Sponsorship Generation
*Conduct a sponsorship audit towards defining and pricing the organization's marketable properties;
*Develop various sponsorship packages and presentations;
*Develop a list of potential sponsors and assist with sponsorship presentations;
*Coordinate sponsorship contracting, servicing and evaluation reporting;

Foundations and Agency Applications
*Research various foundations and agencies for funding potential;
*Submit applications;
*Coordinate necessary servicing and reporting;

Fundrising Education and Advocacy
*Assist in the effort to enhance fundraising emphasis within the organization and at all levels of the sport, towards greater self-sufficiency;
*Design and deliver revenue generation educational opportunities for relevant individuals and groups within the organization's national, provincial and local structures.

* Create marketing materials including flyers, letters, and brochures for the Communications and Government Affairs programs, including the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

CIAT is a non-profit organization that conducts socially and environmentally progressive research aimed at reducing hunger and poverty and preserving natural resources in developing countries.

Intern Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be able to commit for initially 10 months (February 15- December 15, 2008) with and option for extension, and have a background in communications, journalism, or international development, an undergraduate degree, and writing of editing experience in English. Knowledge of Spanish is an advantage.

Intern Responsibilities

The Scripps Howard Foundation's Semester in Washington

The Scripps Howard Foundation's Semester in Washington program is an internship program for college journalism students who write for the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire.

Semester in Washington:
Talented college journalists come to Washington to cover stories for news organizations across the country. In addition to a strong focus on reporting and writing national news and features, the program includes visits to the Capitol, the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Student Press Law Center and other journalism and government institutions. In weekly meetings, interns discuss issues in journalism and how to do a better job covering the news.

Students can apply for one of three semester-long sessions a year: spring, summer and fall. Interns are paid a stipend and provided with free housing. The program works with universities to help students who want academic credit for the internship.
