Allen Rosenshine Minority Education & Training Fund

We are excited to invite students at your school to apply for the Allen Rosenshine Minority Education and Training (MET) Fund. This fund awards internships to minorities, women, and individuals protected under the federal Americans with Disabilities Act to encourage the pursuit of careers in advertising.

There have been almost 200 MET Fund recipients since the program's inception in 2000. At this time, we are accepting applications for internships for the summer of 2008. Interns receive a stipend in the amount of $4, 000 for the 10-week internship.

To be eligible, students must have the application form and accompanying materials completed and received in our offices by March 7, 2008. The recipients will be selected and contacted by the end of March.

Local Church Seeking Intern

Faith Life Tabernacle International Ministries is a non-denominational church located in Henrico County, just 10 minutes from downtown Richmond. FLTIM has been servicing the Richmond community for over 25 years. It also provides outreach support to Guyana, India, Trinidad, and W. Africa. Its support and services include: Winner’s Way (rehabilitation program), Guyana/India Feeding Program, India orphanage and home for widows, and community outreaches.

We want to start a magazine that would expand and highlight our church’s mission. We need someone to work with our magazine staff that is knowledgeable in the areas of editing, layout and design, and public relations. Expertise is not a must, but enthusiasm is.

VHDA - PR Intern Needed

Public Relations Intern

Overview
The Public Relations Intern assists with the planning, development, and execution of communications plans; helps manage VHDA’s internal and external communications and image; and completes other public relations duties as assigned.

PR Internship Duties include:

Assist in the development and execution of plans, events, and activities that support VHDA communication goals and objectives.

Assist with the promotion of VHDA by writing articles, media advisories, news releases, or other documents deemed necessary for the successful completion of VHDA communications objectives.

Place calls to media to follow-up on news releases or other media contacts in an effort to secure coverage of a VHDA news item, activity, event, etc.

Research affordable housing articles and distribute them electronically to VHDA staff.

Work within a client-focused team setting, interacting with all departments within VHDA to get real-world experience and views of the collaborative nature of the business environment.

Other duties may be assigned. All duties should be executed in the spirit of PRSA
(Public Relations Society of America) professional guidelines.

Skills/Knowledge
Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Internet Explorer

Requirements
Available to work 15-20 hours per week minimum
Available for a minimum of 6 months, prefer twelve months
Must be enrolled in school during entire internship
Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better

Commitment
This long-term internship position will report directly to the Public Relations Manager. The internship will require a 15-20 hour weekly commitment with mutually agreeable work hours scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Compensation
This position is a paid internship. The hourly wage for interns is dependant on academic classification and ranges from $10.00 to $18.00.

VHDA - Marketing Coordinator

Position Title: Marketing Coordinator

Overview: Performs a variety of marketing and administrative functions to support the timely implementation of marketing plans and projects. Supports the events manager with VHDA branded events and events VHDA participates in.

Position Role:

BECOME A PRO BASEBALL BROADCASTER FOR THE SUMMER

The Continental Baseball League (CBL) is a second year Dallas, TX based independent pro baseball league. The CBL will select 4 collegiate sports management/broadcast journalism majors to serve as "Play By Play and Color Analysts" for one of our teams for the upcoming 2008 season. The selected broadcasters will be given housing for the 3 month season and reimbursement for travel costs to the team's host city. Organized lectures by other team broadcasters on all facets of broadcast operations will be given to the selected students. This opportunity is intended only for those pursuing official internships with their academic institutions and that all selected individuals will need to register for internship credit with their respective institution if they are selected for a position.

Virginia Commonwealth University On-Campus Internship Opportunity

Virginia Commonwealth University On-Campus Internship Opportunity
Spring Semester

ByStudents.com is a new website, and series of student-written college guidebooks, slated for nationwide release in August 2009.

We are currently seeking two VCU undergraduates for an on-campus internship lasting the duration of Spring semester.

Interns will be asked to contribute approximately 4 hours per week to various tasks involved in the creation and compilation of material about the Virginia Commonwealth University for our forthcoming website, book and other publications (including articles, advice, reviews, blog entries, etc.)

By phone and email, Interns will collaborate with Editors in our New York office. Interns may be asked to participate in editorial decisions, and may be credited by name for material published online and in print.

Interns will also help build and strengthen relationships with VCU’s student body, student government, administration and campus publications.

Interns must be organized, responsible and outgoing. Exceptional interns may have multiple items published, and may be asked to return in a more prominent capacity in subsequent years.

We encourage students from all class years and majors to apply. We actively seek representatives of all genders, races, religions, nationalities, sexual orientations and political affiliations. The internship is unpaid and runs through the Spring semester of the 2007-2008 school year. If you wish to work with your college to receive course credit, we will gladly sign any required paperwork upon completion of the internship program.

Full-time Media Internships in New York City - Fall & Spring

The New York Media Experience Program was specially designed to formulate a rigorous full-time semester-long study/internship. NYMEP is only for undergraduate students and only operates during Fall & Spring semesters. Students are enrolled in a 400+ hour internship and also take two 3-credit online courses. Both courses - seminars in Media Ethics and Media Management - provide students a solid theoretical grounding to match their in-depth field experiences with some of the most competitive firms in the media industry.

NYMEP features personalized internship placement to ensure a strong match between student and site. Internships will commit students to spending 4 days of full-time work ech week for 12 or more weeks in a professional environment. Faculty members conduct personal site visits. Sites are selected from leading media companies where students will be welcomed and challenged.
