Multimedia Journalism Internship
Description of Organization
The Progress-Index, with 12,000 circulation daily and Sunday, is a p.m. paper Monday through Friday and an a.m. on the weekends. The newspaper has been in existence since 1865, but we are a growing multi-media company. Petersburg is a historic town with a growing, vibrant arts community.
Intern Responsibilities
The multimedia intern is accountable for conceiving, producing and readying multimedia features, including text, audio, video and still images, either for our traditional print product or our online sites.
Intern Qualifications
Applicants should have experience with Photoshop and other software programs in making multimedia presentations such as video, photo galleries and slide shows is necessary. Excellent news judgment, strong technical skills and the ability to work well under deadline pressure are a must. This candidate must be willing to work closely with reporters, designers and editors in a collaborative newsroom environment.
