PROGRAM COORDINATOR - MARKETING
Hiring Salary Range $40,664 - $59,555 per year (EXEMPT)
Charlottesville Transit Service (CTS) Program Coordinator-Marketing. Under the direction of the Transit Division Manager, develop and implement marketing strategies to increase ridership and awareness of public transportation. Prepare and implement a plan to promote CTS. Plan and conduct community and on-board surveys. Review CTS logo and colors in connection with vehicles, uniforms, facilities, bus stops, print, internet, and promotional materials and make recommendations aimed at enhancing the image of transit in the Charlottesville area. Prepare cover art for all CTS promotional materials such as the CTS Rider’s Guide. Oversee the revision and production of the CTS Rider’s Guide and working relationship with printers and other contracted service providers. Prepare and implement an annual budget and coordinate with the CTS Accountant. Identify opportunities for grant assistance to support promotions and coordinate with the Grants Coordinator. Coordinate community events to promote CTS and raise public awareness. Represent CTS to community members and make informational presentations to a wide variety of community organizations. Provide outreach to neighborhoods and schools. Responsible for: CTS web page updates and coordination with Information Technology staff; drafting media releases and advertising copy and coordinating with Communications staff; Transit Division newsletter; Charlottesville trip reduction program and coordinating with City employees; and record-keeping and reporting related to all assigned areas of responsibility.
Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and three or more years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience that shall be determined by the Transit Division Manager as equivalent, with major work and training in marketing, promotion, project management, or related fields. Preference given to those applicants that possess knowledge of public transportation. Highly customer-service oriented. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Word and MS Excel. Must be highly organized and efficient and possess demonstrated competence in copy writing, recordkeeping, and reporting.
