DIRECTOR OF INTERACTIVE MEDIA

Virginia Commonwealth University is now accepting applications in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for a Director of Interactive Media. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: administration and oversight of all aspects of the VCU Athletic Department website and to assist department staff with creative design services for publications, advertising and marketing; oversee the day-to-day function of the VCU Athletic Department website; work in conjunction with our web hosting partner (XOS Technologies) VCU Athletics Communications office and VCU Creative Services to make vcuathletics.com a critical marketing and recruiting tool for our staff and coaches; be aggressive in identifying content that visitors to the site will find interesting and exciting, and will continually look for ways to enhance the experience of those visitors to the site; work in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director for Corporate Sales to utilize our site to maximize the benefit and exposure of our sponsors and attract potential new sponsors; provide creative design services to VCU Athletic department with items including but not limited to basketball media guides, multiple sport program covers, web graphics, television and video board graphics, schedule cards, recruiting materials, marketing/branding/promotional materials, pamphlets, flyers, logos, t-shirt designs, ad designs and other publications and graphics as assigned; serve as a member of the VCU Athletics External Team to build synergy and efficiency through the external operation by communicating effectively and working towards a set of common goals and seeking ways the website can support the various missions of the external team; develop and implement a system to promote impeccable customer service in every aspect of our Interactive Media operation; assist in the web promotions of special events in conjunction with the Siegel Center staff; and ensure that the Interactive Media operation works in full compliance with the policies of VCU Athletics, the Colonial Athletic Association and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s degree required. Position will be required to work evenings and weekends as needed. Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Graduate Assistant

Position Title: Exhibit Coordinator (Graduate Assistant)
Reports To: Adult Education Coordinator


General Summary
:
This is a two-year graduate assistantship funded by Virginia Commonwealth University, Graduate School and hosted by Lewis Ginner Botanical Garden. The Exhibit Coordinator assists in planning, presentation, interpretation, and evaluation of art exhibits that enhance the Garden’s public facilities.

Position Responsibilities
:
Reviews exhibit proposals, artist portfolios with other Garden staff and researches potential exhibitors based on criteria set by the Garden. Actively solicits exhibit proposals through appropriate postings. Updates and refines exhibit criteria as needed.

Initiates contact with exhibitors, negotiates schedules, coordinates advance logistics, including loan contracts, insurance values, shipping/handling, and installation.

Finalizes exhibit checklist, including insurance values, and provides appropriate information to Finance/Administration for insurance purposes as needed.

Coordinates production of interpretive materials, including title/text panels, artist statements, and labels. Prints, mounts, and hangs interpretive copy.

Develops promotional copy about exhibits for Garden publications, including Garden Times newsletter; education brochure; website www.lewisginter.org; and electronic newsletter.

Oversees installation of all artwork; assist artists as needed in the dismantling of exhibits.

When appropriate, organizes ways to market the artist’s work through the Gift Shop.

Assumes other exhibit-related duties as directed.
