The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Public Information Coordinator. CVWMA is a regional public service authority that implements recycling and solid waste management services to 13 member governments. Successful candidate shall have a background in public information and principles and practices of public relations and media relations, including placing advertising to increase public awareness about and to promote regional recycling, waste reduction and litter prevention programs; composing copy, designing print and broadcast advertising ; composing news releases, public service announcements and text for various internal and external publications; maintaining CVWMA website and preparing statistical information; and preparing and administering education and outreach budgets. Position requires proficient computer and related software skills. Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, journalism, mass communications, or related field and experience required. NBC12 seeks two Full time individuals to accurately schedule, monitor and enable emergency operation for the local station within a centralized Master Control environment. Coordinator will also be responsible for all local day to day commercial content and program ingest, interfacing with Traffic and assisting in clearing, log changes and Crispin automation updates. Strong computer skills combined with thorough understanding of Crispin Automation, VCI, WSI, EAS, ICONTROL Crystal, Pathfire, MediaDVX, Miranda and Fast Channel Crispin DTA computer control systems are all positive assets for this position. Successful candidates should have ability to multitask, work well under pressure and possess strong communication skills. Prior experience working in broadcast environment within Master Control, traffic or engineering preferred.
