WVEC has an opening for a Full Time Master Control Operator. Candidates must have experience in the following areas:

*Master Control Switching - Operate MC switcher and Louth automation, keep program and transmitter log; file discrepancy reports as needed; monitor outgoing program feeds WVEC-TV and WVEC-DT.

*Master Control Video - Operate camera control units (CCU) for adjustment of proper video levels. Observe waveform monitor to determine correct video level and other video signal parameters. Report problems to Engineering.

*Satellite Receive Operation and Recording - Operate satellite antenna/receiver controls for acquisition of programs, news, and interstitial feeds. Operate videotape recorders and video servers for recording and playback of material. Monitor feeds and recordings for quality assurance.

*Videotape Playback for News Programming - Operate videotape playback equipment for live news telecasts. Follow news rundown, load and cue tapes, follow instructions from director and producer. Report problems to director.

Prefer candidates with two years experience in television master control operation. Position requires holding or obtaining SBE Television Operator Certification. Position requires working nights and weekends and will occasionally require working overtime.
Position reports to the Master Control Operations Supervisor.

A local start up weekly newspaper is in search of an experienced writer to serve as full time Editor/Reporter for African American targeted publication. Must have a passionate desire to report on positive aspects of life in the black community. Seeking someone with a drive to showcase blacks in the most favorable and uplifting manner possible. Must be a prolific writer. Must be versatile. Will write stories on lifestyle issues including education, entertainment, health, finance, employment and tourism. Candidate should have experience with photography and video. And feel extremely comfortable uploading pictures, video and audio to websites.
Must have experience employed as a reporter or editor. Candidates must have a strong background in writing and editing. A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related studies. Or four years experience as a full time reporter.

A strong work ethic and high integrity is required. References will be required.
