Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction

Every time I read this article, I get very excited. I cannot stop wondering about what Benjamin would have to say about the Internet, and specifically about art museum web sites. How does all the avilability of high quality images online affect the original works of art? Does the proliferation of these images change how we view the "originals?" If so, in what ways? How can (or can) an aesthetic experience happen online? What would John Dewey have to say about that?

What are your thoughts about this? Have you seen art online and had an experience from it? How does your online art viewing differ from in person art viewing?
