podcasts + and -

+
video
engaging multiple senses
quality info
images/slideshow
conversation with 2 or more people
time (2-5 minutes)
personal connection

-
dull
boring
lecture format
time
lack of personal connection

These are some of the ideas that the students in curriculum (ARTE 311) came up with for the positives and negatives related to podcasts and podcasting. How can we keep these in mind for when making our own podcasts? What can you learn by listening to other podcasts?

Comments

I see podcasts as a form of radio. In thinking of how radio is formated and presented I would keep each segment short and concise. I would also try to keep it moving. In the podcast we are doing on the paintings, the script would have to be very descriptive for the audience to get a clear visual picture.
I would also add a music and sound track possibly ambient sound.
