This blog is about something that happened on my weekend. There is no specific title for this blog. I cannot think for title. This weekend was bad. I went home to Fredericksburg yesterday morning. My mom called me around eight o'clock in the morning and she wanted me to go home before noon. She told me that we are going to a party that night. I did not remember that we are going to a sweet sixteenth birthday of my mom's friend's daughter. So, after I ate breakfast I got ready and drive home by myself. I got there around two in the afternoon, and then as soon as I got there me and my mom went to Potomac Hills in Woodbridge to go shopping. We bought some dresses that we can wear for the party and we also bought a gift for the birthday girl. We are not so close. I was shocked when she called me and told me that she wants me to be one of her sixteen candles. I do not know why she picked me to be part of her party. I was really surprised when she told me that. When me and my mom got to the party it was really awkward. I felt like I do not have to be there. I do not know what is bothering me that night, all I wanted to do is drive back home. Rachel and I never talked before. Even if our family always get together we have not talk at all. I do not know how to approach her. All I think is, the reason why I am in her sixteen candles is because of her mom. She is half Filipino half American. And most of the guest were Filipino. I felt okay when I saw my Filipino friends in the party. By the time it is my turn to say a wish for her I was so nervous. I do not know what to tell her. It was really awkward in that moment, she can't even look at me while I am wishing. I was so embarrassed.

The topic that I chose from page 237 is Exploring gender roles and stereotypes: Women or homosexual in the military. OurTW8 is about women in the military. I think the topic was easy, so I decided to do my second essay about women or homosexual in the military. In my opinion, I think women or homosexual should be allowed to join in the military. Each one of us can decided how can we serve the country. I think that women or homosexual in the military is not a big problem. Before they become a part of the military they have to go to boot camp first. Women or homosexual will not be a part in the military if they failed the training. Nowadays, there is a lot of women in the military. That only means that women has the ability to be in the military. I think that women in the military is more interesting than men being in the military. And also women can do office work, they do not have to be in the war to consider them being a military. All of us has the opportunity to serve our country. All we have to do is follow our dreams and do not let anyone to stop us.

Gender roles
Males and females considered as the gender roles. Culture and society are the most influencing concerns on shaping gender roles. There is a lot of cultures that man has a lot more expectations than the women. Being a heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, or asexual are not acceptable in all culture and religion. A person's gender roles changes during the childhood and the adolescence stage. This occurs when a person starting to like other person or to show affection to other. Parents? Parents has the most influential affects on changing gender roles. Teachers are our first teacher of everything but especially our attitude and behavior towards other people.
There is a lot of differences between male and female not only the physical structure but also in feelings and behavior. Its proven that women are smarter than men. Women think everything differently than men. Men's are more likely to have a tough job than women. But not all men are good on "man's job." There is a lot of women that are starting to find the men's job to be their profession. There's no problem with that, but then sometimes the discrimination starts to build. A lot of man discriminate the capability of a women to do a man's work. Like what my mom always told me, "You don't need a man in your life" grammatically she does not mean that I don't need a man in my life, like boyfriend or something. When I come home to Stafford, my mom always ask me to do man's job. Like putting up frames, moving stuffs from place to place. She always tells me that I don't have to wait for a man to do this things. She also told me that if us, (women) did not start doing this kind of things around the house, what will happen if there is no man around us. She always wants me to be ready for the future. I like the way how my mom teaches me to be strong and talented like men's are.

The topic that I have chose is between the differences of education in the US and Philippines, however I am still thinking about writing an essay about the Internet. I have not decided which one I am going to choose. Both of them are easy to talk about, I have good examples for the both of them but I still don't know which one I like more. On the essay proposal, I talked about the Internet. I might changed it if I decided to do the essay about education. On my research paper, I will use the databases that our teacher will show us. I will make a plan on how will I do my research paper. I will read some articles regarding about my topic.
About the education? I can write all the differences between here and in the Philippines. I have a lot of differences that I can list. One is about the grading system. The grading system here is way different that the Philippines. We don't use letters for grading scale. Moreover, it is hard to get a high grade in the Philippines. In the Philippines, we were a uniform. There's a lot of rules that the students should follow once they're enrolled in a school.
The Internet is not hard to talk about. I used it every day. I have a lot of experiences that can be my examples to support my thesis. I think it is more adventurous if I do a research about the use of World Wide Web and I will learn something new about the Internet. Researching about this topic will helps me in the future essay paper that I am going to write. Having knowledge about the Internet can make my future essay's better.
I am hoping that before the end of the day, I already made up my mind on which topic I will choose. It is hard for me to chose because both of them interests me.
Multiple Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence
I just read the article called "Multiple Intelligence and Emotional Intelligence." On the article Gardner identified eight kinds of multiple intelligence. They are: logical-mathematical, linguistic, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, spatial, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. All these eight were not all commonly recognized by the school settings but Gardner believes that all of this are more accurately captures the diverse nature of human capability. He said that almost every normal person should have their own intelligence. He also points out that what is considered intelligence may differ, depending on cultural values. He gives some example to support his theory.
Emotional Intelligence, it is another type of intelligence which Gardner talks about. It is a type of intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's and own and others' emotions, to discriminate among them, and to use the information to guide one's thinking and actions. He said that a four year old kid has an emotional disposition characteristics of a successful adult.
I believe that each person has their own characteristics and own level of IQ. I don't think it's necessary to talk someone's level of IQ. I think that each student should have a choice in what classes should they take. The more the student like their class, the more they focus on it. The students can express their feelings when they focusing in one type of activity. Everyone knows in what case their good at. Each person should have the ability to practice it. Intelligence is not about what age you are or what raise. I don't think the ethnicity is a major reason on how the people have their knowledge. Its normal that each person has a different level of IQ. Our knowledge were not equally the same to others. Each of us has a different way on how to improved the level of IQ.

Have you ever liked to be a senior? Your last year in high school. I bet you, you were excited on your first day. It sounds fun, but in real life senior year is the most difficult year in high school. All your teachers expects you to do excellent job and be able to graduate. You can't do things that are against the policy or else you will be kicked out.
It was my senior year in Colonial Forge when we had to do a research paper. Research paper grade means a lot to a senior student. It will determine if the student will pass or failed for the year. Senior paper grade is half of the final grade in the end-year grade. At first I thought it is going to be complicated to write a research paper. I don't know where and how to start. There's a lot of things that's going on my mind. My teacher gives us a lot of requirements on how she wants our research paper be. I had to make a paper deals with "What do I want to be in the future." "What career fits me?" My paper is all about Registered Nursing. I had to make a story to start off my paper. I also interviewed some people that relates to my career. Internet is very helpful in doing my research paper. I used databases and cites that are reliable. Every details that I got from the Internet I quoted them, and I also cited them. I made a citation page at the end of my paper. It took me weeks to finish my paper. I also read some books and articles on the Internet to help me with my research paper. Not all the websites that pops up in the Internet are reliable, so every time I use the Internet I always make sure that the details that I'm getting are accurate. I did not rely in one website. I used a lot of websites to check if the details matches. I also did not use Wikipedia, because I know that it is not the best source. Everyone can edit it. I think there's no reason for not using the Internet in doing homework's or research papers. For me, using the Internet in doing research papers or assignment helps a lot. It's up to the person if he/she will abuse it. It's also up to them if they will "copy and paste" all the details that they have found in the Internet. Internet made my life easier. It makes my senior paper a good-quality paper. I was happy when I found out my grade on my paper. I got 98 on my paper which an A. I have some wrong grammars that's why my teacher took two points. My teacher commented on my paper. She said that I did a great job, and she was amazed about my paper. She also said that she didn't get bored reading fourth teen pages paper. I was very blissful to tell my parents about my grade. Internet really helps me a lot to go through that big challenge in my senior year.
