RL is all-consuming these days, but plans and hopes for another exciting graduation and a summer filled with catching up and research are enticing! I'm working on our Second Life invasion every day. Planting flowers and tomatoes in RL gardens while dreaming about bubbling classrooms that float with no SL wind. Typing at the kitchen table as I imagine creating monumental extravagant SL sculptures that touch the sun.
So, what's the point? Imagining with no real limitations...is limiting...only because my RL invades it. But, these days SL is invading my RL and sometimes I actually feel like I have this secret that indeed I can do and be anything..... Again...limiting....
As I work ---well I don't really call it work--- to evaluate my art education students' Tinderbox units, I am constantly amazed at the power of hypertext to provoke them to think, create, and plan with so much more depth than they had before. They leave the class now with twelve super quality units and I can't wait to hear their teaching stories.
