Welcome To Clinical Social Work Research

Greetings all. This is the BLOG for Clinical Research in Social Work 706-707. I would very much like to welcome all of you to the course. I know that we are going to have a busy but exciting time this year. Please use this BLOG and the e-distribution list as a means to communicate with your classmates and with me. You will find that I will use the BLOG and the e-list (see Syllabus)

http://www.vcu.edu/csbc/slwk706/slwk706_syllabus.html

to help you with your questions. Please do not print out this syllabus. You will receive a copy in class. Just look it over for familiarity. We will discuss it in detail. And don't worry about how long the syllabus is. It covers the whole year. I will also use the BLOG and the e-list to post answers to questions, to discuss things that have happened in class and to dialogue with you. Lastly, I will use the BLOG and the e-list to distribute handouts that might be of interest.

Please make sure that you visit the course website

http://www.vcu.edu/csbc/slwk706/

and begin familiarizing yourself with the course. Read over the home page of the website. Then click on Week-by-Week. You will be immediately directed to the Week 1 (first class) information. Once you are there, click on Preparing for Week 1 Class. This will get you up to speed with what you need to do. When you are done with that, click on Research Dilemma and answer (the best that you can) the question asked. When you are done, click submit. Please do this before you come to the first class. Lastly, please make sure you download the Social Justice form (found under Preparing for Week 1 Class) and bring it to class with you.

Once again, welcome all. I look forward to seeing you in class on 29 August.
