End of Semester Fall 2005 Remarks
Hi Everyone
It has been quite a semester. And I must say, you have all survived it well. Because of the snow day, we are altering the protocol for the Step 3 papers.
(1) You will receive an email with my home postal address. Mail your paper version of the final Step 3 to me at that address. DO NOT mail it to the university. There is no mail delivery during the break. If you have any problems, I will be around for most of the break.
(2) I must receive your Step 3 paper by Thursday December 15th in order to turn in grades in a timely fashion. If I do not receive it by that date, you will receive an incomplete for the semester.
(3) Because of the snow and the schedule, we will submit IRB proposals immediately upon return from break so be prepared to hustle.
(4) During the break you should be thinking about your next steps. Assume your IRB proposal will be approved and that you will be carrying out your project. You need to think about how you will obtain your sample population, how you will set up your database, how you will obtain handouts, and you should now have a set of contingency tables that you have set up related to your hypothesis.
(5) When we return, we will hit the ground running. I will do a big semester review in the first class. I will also hand out an updated syllabus schedule for the semester. We will also do course evaluation.
(6) Following that lecture, we will begin the text chapter on regression.
Please read the blog and check your email periodically, as I will be sending out information on where we will be meeting for the first class.
Hope you all have a great break. It's been a great semester working with you all. I look forward to seeing you next semester. Remember, we will get through this together!
Peace, Serenity, Health
