Lecture 7 - Semester 2 - Preparing For Class

Hi Everyone
There is class this coming Monday. Please arrive on time for class. We will have an excellent guest speaker. Dr. Ayn Welleford is a wonderful and profoundly knowledgeable researcher in qualitative methods. Please preview her presentation Welleford Presentation Download and come to class prepared to ask questions.

A number of you have not made your appointments for final review of your project. You cannot do it without my final say. Please remember I am leaving on Sunday and will not be back for two weeks. Time's a wast'in gang.

When I return there will be an exam handed out at the end of class. Oh well, we tried didn't we. Study all the material up through z-scores and how to read the tables. I will do a review when I return. Be prepared to ask questions.

See you all on 20 March. Work on your papers, your presentations, your database, your projects, etc.

Lecture 5 - Semester 2 - Preparing For Class

Hi All
You should have read textbook Chapter 10 entitled "The Normal Distribution". I do not expect anyone to get it right away. However, you will find that once we review it, it will not be nearly as difficult as you think. Continue to work on your SPSS database construction for your research project, continue to work on your paper and your presentation. Don't forget you need to make a 15 minute appointment with me to go over your project before you start gathering the data. We have a special guest speaker on 6 March 2006. Dr. Ayn Welleford, Chair of Gerontology and an expert in qualitative research will be lecturing to you while I am away. Please be prompt to class and make her feel welcome. She is a dear friend and an excellent, excellent teacher.
