THE END

Although I know what Wittgenstein said does not mean that way I still want to use it that way.

All the words are powerless compared with what we are really through.

BOOK STORES

The feeling surrounded by books is so great! Books sold in America are all beautiful! But also expensive... Used books are also fine. Usually in China used books are dirty and old but in America they still looks like new. I have to say publication industry here are much more advanced than ours.
We have dumplings for lunch at a Chinese-owned restaurant. It tastes good and reminds me of other delicious Chinese food.Crying...The shop owner is from Beijing and he is very hospitable. He is also very excited seeing so many Chinese after being in America so many years. They keep talking until the limited time. "Only when you are overseas you will feel the emotion of loving your mother country. " I totally agree.

SHERANDO LAKE

It's just a lake with mountains around. But it's a good place for relaxing. ^_^
I think the long way to get to the lake makes girls out of mind. We suddenly keep singing Chinese songs. But none of us remember all the words of songs. Music can express one's feelings, and singing makes us happy although it looks like we are crazy...
And we enjoy YY too~ >_<

HOME VISIT

Cassie's family is great.n_n
The house decorated with all kinds of frogs which is her mum's favorite plus lovely garden is actually some kind of a dream house~
When we arrived at the house, the first thing impressed me was the dogs. They were so enthusiastic. I noticed there was a proverb on one of the mats which said something like a house without pets are not a real home. Although In China there are more and more families raising pets, it is still not so popular compared with the situation in America. Some of the reason may be most of the people still don't have a big house first.
Then we tried HOT TUBS. It was wonderful! I remember when I played the PC game the sims one of the expensive products you can buy is just a hot tubs. It was really exciting.
The family dinner was also harmonious. I have never eaten potato in this way. It was very delicious. Cassie's father is brilliant in conversation and we had several warm conversations. Everyone is satisfactory.
I really admire a family like this.

CANAL WALK

James River is just like Huangpu River. Both of them are cross a city and nurture people there. But James River is more quite than Huangpu River. There are always lots of people gathered around the Huangpu River while along James River there are not so many people.
After the canal walk we go to downtown and walk around it for a while. We have been had a tour here on bus. Most of restaurants in downtown are a bit of expensive but they look luxury.
M's girlfriend tells us there is also KTV in America which makes us excited. In Shanghai we always spent lots of time in KTV. It is almost the most popular place for young people. And everybody likes singing...

LECTURE IN CHINESE

Because most of the days here we are among our groups we always say Chinese which is not good for improving our English. Finally we have a lecture which is in Chinese. I think it's impressed. The argument definitely makes sense. I think if I come to USA alone maybe I will be more independant. The circumstance makes people change.

I think the memory of USA will stay at the beach.
Just hang out. See the same people come and go. aimless and fine.
The goal of my life may be just aimless.
The crowd and the noise makes me feel safe.
The peace of the moment feels good.
Ice cream and familiar people.
It's a great slogan VIRGINIA IS FOR LOVERS.
That's all.

And the last morning waiting for the sunrise. It's cloudy but finally I see the sun. It's shining and becoming a light spot.

Let's shining.

VB

There is a computer program called visual basic which almost every student should learn at FDU. But it also means Virginia Beach…which makes me smile.>_<
The sea is not for swimming but for sunshine. People say American live a high-speed life but they still think it is worth spending a whole day at beach. While in China trip is not dealt in this way, usually you are allowed only 2 hours at beach then you have to go to next view spot. So whose life is more stressful…?
I think this is a big difference.

I have read most of the Harry Potter story. It is a fantastic story and I want to know what is going on next. But first I can see the latest movie of this series story.
The movie is great. But I think IMAX makes me feel tired after I finish the movie. I have to keep raising my head during the whole movie in order to see the whole screen...am I wrong?
Anyway I am impressed by the movie. *_*
I have to mention today's sudden rain. Actually M offers to drive us to a free concert, but due to the rain we have to get back GRC directly. What a pity. And I feel uncomfortable during the night so I try some traditional Chinese medicine. Quite effective.
It is a happy day.

GLOBALIZATION

No matter in China or in America , people don’t feel surprised at foreigners any more because there are already so many different kinds of people around. During our visit here almost no one get any culture shock. Except the language which is also not a problem for some people, we live like we are at home.

When in China we can watch the newest American TV series thanks to the development of internet. By the way I like HOUSE very much. We spend lots of our spare time learning English. We care about news about American very much. All of these show that a era of globalization has already come. The obstacle of distance is not a problem any more. So what should we do to adapt to this new situation?

A teacher of mine once said that he did not agree with the globalization which actually is westernization. I don’t know if he is right but I think maybe globalization should be rethought...... As far as I am concerned I think it is true to some extent. I haven't seen any thing in America have been affected by Chinese culture. When we go to the Chinese food restaurant and Asian supermarket, the majority of the customers are from Asian. But Mc donald's and KFC is quite popular with Chinese people and the western way of life is also more and more popular. This can not be called globalization. Anyway it is just personal opinion. We do enjoy the modernization of western countries, but there exists some kind of unbalance.

MR DREAM

Now you know the importance of having a great name. It will make you be remembered by others more easily and to some extent be more popular.
Mr Dream's name is not dream. It's a big coincidence. This kind of things makes life more interesting. Our Chinese names also have this kind of coincidence. the last name CHEN plus the first name SHU means to express but they are not the same words.n_n
I love the library. It offers everything and atmosphere here is also wonderful.

After our first day of lecture.
Yes people love shopping as long as you have enough money. So It is hard to explain what stimulate us to do shopping like that. Some of the products here are much more inexperience than in China. we think if we miss this chance of buying something really worthwhile it will be a big pity. Eventually almost everyone has several bags and satisfactory. Next is wal*mart. We have wal*mart in China too but it is not the most popular supermarket in China. I don't know why.I remember B say "wal*mart is amazing. It has everything." nod~

RICHMOND

We have a tour of Richmond on a bus called James River...The lady explains us a brief history of Richmond. Actually I almost know nothing about Richmond and Virginia before. Now I know Virginia has tradition from Britain. The most exciting place today is the State Capital. I think it is pure white which shows the pure of power. The guide of capital also makes me know more about the city and the state. Washington, Jefferson those heroes of American history are all from Virginia. The guide says that Washington was a man of man. What an interesting express but it really makes sense.
After we get back to the GRC, there is a BBQ party waiting for us. E's skill of roasting is quite excellent. Every time these is something done we all gather around. Maybe it also because we are too hungry.
So many things happen in one day.I feel a bit of tired.

CAMPUS TOOR

Today we meet our interns and they take us for a campus tour. This is a real open university. D express that she can't imagine a university with railings around. Although it is an open university it still maintains an atmosphere of university. I think this is impossible at China...During the tour, T gives everyone a map of VCU which I think will be very useful. When we explore the campus on our own later a guy shouts that map is useless which I think is nonsense.
The sun here seems set very late compared with in Shanghai. Around dusk our kindest interns drive us to a nearby supermarket which sells Asian products. We buy some vegetables seasoning and even rice. So we can try to cook on our own at our kitchen. haha...
