And someone told me that when I get used to the lifestyle in Now York City, I can never find another city in the world to live in and enjoy the life there. That is to say New York City is the most ideal city for me to stay for my life. Staying in New York City is a kind of experience in which I can enjoy the luxurious lifestyle---five star lifestyle. Some people think that Manhattan and you---New York City are synonymous, but they are not. Manhattan is only one of the five boroughs that make up you---New York City; the others are The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. During my trip to NYC, I want to dine at a top restaurant in Union Square, to see dynamic theater on and off Broadway, to go shopping in NoLita or the East Village. And I want to walk along the Fifth Avenue, have adventure in the central park, and most of all , experience the atmosphere in the Wall Street. Further more, The New York Stock Exchange is also one of the most popular attractions to me. For many years, it keeps the traditional way of stoke trading, and everyone in the hall can here the exciting bell ringing at half past nine everyday in the morning. As is known to all, the New York Stock Exchange is the heart of American economy and the pulse of the whole world’s economy. I think the trip to NYC will be an exciting and fantastic experience, and I’m looking forward it very much. NYC, are you waiting for me?

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended the day up 3.47 per cent at an all-time record of 4560.77 points yesterday. The bull markets have been lasted for 3 years and I think the booming situation will last for at least one year until August, 2008. Both the personal and the institutional investors are very optimistic about the future of the Chinese stock markets, about 60 per cent of the investors agree that the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index will go up continuously to 5000 points at the end of this year. While most of the investors including me are looking forward to buying and selling stocks with the method of T+0, which will be more flexible than T+1 method. When will the new method be carried out? I don’t know. According to the government’s new tax and interest policies, I estimate that the new trading method will be put into effect in the end of the 2008. Because after the 2008 Olympic Games, there must be a decrease of volume of stock trade everyday and the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index maybe go down to 4000 and fluctuate around this point for a long time. In order to spur to the stock market , the government will carry out a series of new financial policies including the T+0 method.

Both at home and abroad, I can see Starbucks everywhere. As is known to all, Starbucks Corporation is a coffeehouse chain based in the United States. Named after a character in the novel Moby-Dick, Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world. The root of Starbucks is to provide an experience of drinking coffee and transmit the culture of coffee to everyone, while not just to quench customers’ thirst. From its founding in Seattle, Starbucks has experienced a rapid expansion. In the 1990s, the company was opening a new store every workday, a pace that continued into the 2000s.How can Starbucks gain this glorious achievement within 10 years? I find that some coffee companies sell services to customers, some sell qualities to consumers, but Starbucks sell a kind of miracle experiences of coffee to people. When you enter Starbucks, you will find the delicate cups, classical music, fashion magazines, and beautiful decorations. So in this kind of environment, you will not only enjoy the coffee itself, but also enjoy the experience of drinking coffee, listening to the music, and reading magazines. Chinese tea can learn from Starbucks and try to transmit the culture of tea to everyone all over the world.

In an unforgettable and raining evening, we had a precious opportunity to listen to the Jazz concert which was held in the school of performing arts. Although I have very limited knowledge about Jazz, I really enjoyed the fun and pleasure that Jazz had brought to me. The teacher is really a funny, energetic, and passionate guy who taught us a lot .Jazz has roots in the combination of West African and Western music traditions, including spirituals, blues and ragtime, stemming from West Africa. When a pianist, guitarist or other chord-playing instrumentalist improvises an accompaniment while a soloist is playing, it is called comping. And the funny teacher let everyone to speak “How are you” in 20 different tunes, and some the tunes were so weird. But the strange tunes were similar to the tunes in Jazz music. After listening to several songs, I began to understand the rhyme and meaning contained in the music. But what is the meaning of every note in the Jazz music? I can not figure it out, unfortunately. I just try to guess the meaning of the note when I was listening to it. With more and more access to the Jazz music, I will fall in love with the miraculous and sweet-sounding music.

Will you foreign students like Jazz? I should try my best to play it.....

We went to visit Monticello in a sunny day, where Thomas Jefferson lived when he was alive. It is a very beautiful and huge house with lots of trees and flowers around .Thomas Jefferson is really a great man who is a president, educator who found the University of Virginia, architect who has designed and established many buildings including Monticello, inventor who invented the automobile door, author who was the principal author of the United States Declaration of Independence.
President John F. Kennedy welcomed forty-nine Nobel Prize winners to the White House in 1962, saying, "I think this is the most extraordinary collection of talent and of human knowledge that has ever been gathered together at the White House—with the possible exception of when Thomas Jefferson dined alone."
Monticello, located near Charlottesville, Virginia, was the estate of Thomas Jefferson, the principal author of the United States Declaration of Independence, the third President of the United States, and founder of the University of Virginia. The house is of Jefferson's own design and is situated on the summit of an 850-foot-high peak in the Southwest Mountains south of the Rivanna Gap. Monticello, in Italian, means "little mountain."

A cute and responsible guide

I'm not joking! Although we are in VA now,but we actually experienced a wonderful and typical Hawaii Party in Phuc's friend's house. We should wear colorful clothes which stand for Hawaii style and wear flower which is really attractive when you walk and chat with friends. It was the first time that I tasted the rum jelly ,which is a kind of alcohol, and I liked it so much because it tastes like grape budding ,but I didn't try a second cup because I did't want to be a alcoholic. The host and hostess are so nice that you can see the smile on the faces like sunshine of Hawaii. We played a popular game called ''murderer " with the friendly host , Phuc and Phuc's two cute sisters. Although it was a cool game ,we could feel the hamonious atmosphere among us.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner
It was really a traditional American dinner. Because we tasted turkey, smashed patato, grean bean, croissant, pumpkin cake,etc. They were really delicious and we had a lot of fun. Phuc's best friend ,Jennifer, is truly a good cook,and she taught us how to make smashed patato,toasted bread,and we enjoyed the happy time with her.
