The Virginia Capitol

The Virginia Capitol is ,beyond comparison, the finest, the most noble, and the greateat in all America. Actually, it looks like the White House located in Washington,DC. When I was walking in the Capitol, I felt I was one of the senators who were going to sellect a new governor of Virginia. I hope it will come ture one day.
There are many statues surround the Virginia Capitol, such as Governor William Smith Statue,General Thomas J.Jasckson Statue,Edgar Allan Poe Statue,Dr.Hunter Holmes McGuire Statue and so on . What's more Washington Monument is the most splendid and amazing one which was appealing to me and teached me a lot .

New Record

American stock market is one of the most matual markets in the world. And the New York Exchang is a wealth heaven actually, because the Wall Street is the ideal work place for the graduates from Business Schools.Yesterday,Wall Street set another record ---the Dow Jones industrials closed above 14,000. The Standard & Poor's 500 index also had a record close.IBM---a Dow stock, jumped to $115.86 after the technology company said the strength in its software unit and improvement in its business services. But Google fell down 8.1 percent . Personally speaking, this time is not a good chance to buy some new stocks ,because after I did some researches,I found the 6 months Indexes of the Dow Jones Industrials,NYSE Composite, S&P 500 are a little bit wired. I think ,after the index reaches to the highest point and then turns back ,there be a good chance for the investors to buy stocks, and I'm waiting for the precious opportunity now

Busch Gardens Europe, formerly known as Busch Gardens Williamsburg, opened on May 5, 1975, and has a European theme. The park was originally tagged "The Old Country". Attractions at this park include Curse of DarKastle, Alpengeist, Escape from Mommy, Apollo's Chariot, Loch Ness Cow and so on. The park is divided into seven sections, each themed to a different European country.
On Saturday we visited the Busch Gardens. Our adventures included: several rides: the skyride , Curse of DarKastle, the swings, the bumper cars, Roman Rapids, Escape from Pompeii, the Griffon the train, We also saw the Pirates 4D show .

Alpengeist Roller Coaster:
First there's the intimidating (almost 200' tall) lift hill where you find yourself wondering when you'll get to the top. The view past your dangling feet of the ground and even trees far below is pretty unnerving. After the lift hill you fly down an enormous swooping drop that puts the train on its way to breaking the sound barrier .Then an Immelman inversion so tall and smooth you can just barely feel the inversion, followed by a tall vertical loop with some great g-forces. And now you're on the way to meet Loch Ness down by the Rhine River where you hit an extreme, sometimes rough, cobra roll featuring two back to back inversions. Next, you move through a mid-course brake run, drop out of the run with a little pop of airtime through a short themed tunnel and into a sweet zero-g roll. The roll is followed by a nice corkscrew and helix combination. The sequence after the brakes is one of the best around in my opinion.

Virginia Beach Vacation

Recognized by the Guiness Book of World Records as "The World's Longest Pleasure Beach," it's no wonder that millions of people flock to Virginia Beach, Virginia year after year. Imagine spending my afternoons soaking up the sun, golfing on award-winning greens, or biking on the magnificent Virginia Beach oceanfront boardwalk. Isn’t that reason enough to visit Virginia Beach VA for a relaxing weekend along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean?

The beautiful beach offers a wide-array of fantastic Virginia Beach hotel properties that are just steps away from the seashore. And we stayed in the Atlantic Ocean Hotel, which has standard oceanfront rooms with 2 double beds. From the window,I can have a fantastic view of the Virginia Beach and the Atlantic Ocean.

My fantastic Virginia Beach getaway doesn't end when the sun goes down. Atlantic Avenue morphs into a family-friendly festival atmosphere every night during the summer. Beach Street USA features an eclectic mix of Virginia Beach entertainment, including musicians, jugglers, magicians and much more. Events such as the Boardwalk Art Show & Festival and the Patriotic Festival make Virginia Beach a destination not to be missed. Top Virginia Beach attractions also include the Virginia Beach boardwalk, the Virginia Aquarium, Nauticus Naval Museum and Ocean Breeze Water.

Colonial Williamsburg

Williamsburg was the thriving capital of Virginia when the dream of American freedom and independence was taking shape and the colony was a rich and powerful land stretching west to the Mississippi River and north to the Great Lakes. For 81 formative years, from 1699 to 1780, Williamsburg was the political, cultural, and educational center of what was then the largest, most populous, and most influential of the American colonies. It was here that the fundamental concepts of our republic — responsible leadership, a sense of public service, self-government, and individual liberty — were nurtured under the leadership of patriots such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, and Peyton Randolph.

Near the end of the Revolutionary War and through the influence of Thomas Jefferson, the seat of government of Virginia was moved up the peninsula to the safer and more centrally located city of Richmond. For nearly a century and a half afterward, Williamsburg was a simple, quiet college town, home of the College of William and Mary.

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation operates the world’s largest living history museum in Williamsburg, Virginia—the restored 18th-century capital of Britain’s largest, wealthiest, and most populous outpost of empire in the New World. It interprets the origins of the idea of America, conceived decades before the American Revolution. The Colonial Williamsburg story, “Becoming Americans,” tells how diverse peoples, having different and sometimes conflicting ambitions, evolved into a society that valued liberty and equality. Americans cherish these values as a birthright, even when their promise remains unfulfilled.

In Colonial Williamsburg’s Historic Area stand hundreds of restored, reconstructed, and historically furnished buildings. They tell the stories of the men and women of the 18th-century city—black, white, and native American, slave, indentured, and free—and the challenges they faced. In this historic place, I learned quite a lot from the past.

Chinese stocks hit new record

Chinese stocks hit a new high on Thursday and the market’s rebound propelled Industrial and Commercial Bank of China past Citigroup to take the title as the world’s largest bank by market capitalization, based on its Shanghai share price. It's amazing!
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended the day up just 0.5 per cent at an all-time record of 4346.5 points, following a month of volatility and a week of daily government warnings that the country’s economic growth of nearly 12 per cent is too high.
The index is now back to the level it reached in May this year, when the government raised the stamp tax on stock transactions in order to cool sentiment in a bull market that had seen average prices quadruple in less than two years.
Thursday’s turnover reached $27.5bn, around half the level it hit at the height of China’s stock frenzy in May.

Chinese companies traded in both markets are all more expensive on the mainland than in Hong Kong, which has a freely convertible currency, and a relatively expensive valuation is what allowed ICBC to surpass Citigroup this week to become the world’s largest financial institution.
The comparison is somewhat misleading, as ICBC’s assets of around $961.5bn at the end of 2006 were only equal to around half of Citigroup’s $1,880bn. If measured by its Hong Kong shares ICBC’s market capitalization is closer to $207bn – smaller than Citigroup, HSBC and Bank of America.

Hawaii Party & Thanksgiving dinner

I'm not joking! Although we are in VA now,but we actually experienced a wonderful and typical Hawaii Party in Phuc's friend's house. We should wear colorful clothes which stand for Hawaii style and wear flower which is really attractive when you walk and chat with friends. It was the first time that I tasted the rum jelly ,which is a kind of alcohol, and I liked it so much because it tastes like grape budding ,but I didn't try a second cup because I did't want to be a alcoholic. The host and hostess are so nice that you can see the smile on the faces like sunshine of Hawaii. We played a popular game called ''murderer " with the friendly host , Phuc and Phuc's two cute sisters. Although it was a cool game ,we could feel the hamonious atmosphere among us.

Wonderful Thanksgiving dinner
It was really a traditional American dinner. Because we tasted turkey, smashed patato, grean bean, croissant, pumpkin cake, etc. They were really delicious and we had a lot of fun. Phuc's best friend ,Jennifer, is truly a good cook, and she taught us how to make smashed patato, toasted bread, and we enjoyed the happy time with her.
