MCV Campus Planned Telephone Outage

Due to the replacement of a faulty memory card on a backup server, all phones on the MCV campus will be rebooted twice between 12 midnight and 3 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007. No calls can be placed nor can the system take incoming calls. Calls already in conversation will not be affected during these system reboots. Estimated 5 minutes per outage. Please call 827-8353 should you have a problem during this maintenance.

Scheduled Maintenance - E-mail Servers July 28, 2007

The faculty/staff e-mail servers Aspen, Aspen2, Aspen3, Aspen4, Oak, Oak2, Oak3, Oak4 will be down for configuration changes between 8:00 am - 8:30 am Saturday July 28, 2007. IMAP connections will be redirected to a secure socket layer connection by default.

VCU Online Resources Briefly Unavailable On Friday Night

There will be a brief period where VCU online resources are unavailable Friday night due to network maintenance. Sanger Hall Network Interuption Planned For Saturday

As part of the ePhones upgrade in Sanger Hall, equipment must be replaced to ensure that these new telephones will work correctly on the VCU network. This has been scheduled for Saturday, July 28, 2007 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this time no network access will be available to anyone working in Sanger Hall. This includes wireless and public access computer labs. Please share this information with anyone you feel will be affected by this network service interruption. Cedar Mail Server Unavailable

E-Mail Services is working to bring Cedar back on-line. Outbound mail via IMAP clients is directly affected. IMAP clients can sign into VCU Mail Anywhere to send mail until the server is brought back on-line. For assistance accessing VCU Mail Anywhere, please call the Helpdesk at 828-2227.

High Performance Parallel Computing Bootcamp

This course, hosted at the University of Virginia, will introduce participants to the basics of high-performance parallel computing and the national cyber-infrastructure. The course is targeted at graduate students, staff, and faculty with a computational science and problems that demand high performance. The program takes place August 7-10 & August 13-16, 2007. Technology Services begins installation of the university's new phone system in the Ambulatory Care Center, basement through third floor, this week. Occupants of these buildings click here for information regarding training sessions or to download training materials.
