Maintenance on the University Blackberry Enterprise Server Saturday, December 1, 2007, has been canceled.
Scheduled maintenance will be performed on the E-mail system Saturday, December 1, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. During this maintenance window, access to e-mail may be unavailable on your primary server. Access to your e-mail via your alternate server should be available automatically when accessing through VCU Mail Anywhere, or via your alternate server using an IMAP connection or the Notes client.
The Technology Services Help Desk online support system is unavailable. Staff have been notified and are working on the problem. Please contact the Help Desk at 828-2227 should you have any questions or need support. Thank you.
Network Services will be upgrading the wireless network on December 4 in the residence halls so that users will be required to authenticate using Clean Access in much the same way they currently authenticate to the network via a hard wire connection. Click here for more information concerning Clean Access. During the upgrade between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., users might experience a brief period where they are unable to log into the wireless network. Please contact the Technology Services Help Desk with any questions at 828-2227.

A new circuit is being added to the Cabell Library power grid Friday night. We are planning for only a 15 minute window of network outage during this time from 9 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. As a result users may experience intermittent network, wireless, and phone outages during this time. Buildings in the Southern Franklin Street houses to the North Side of Floyd and from Harrison to Belvidere Street will be affected. A patch to the online support ticket system for the Technology Services Help Desk will cause the system to be unavailable from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. Monday Morning. For any questions please contact the Help Desk at 828-2227.
The MCV campus telephone handsets will reboot on Thursday, November 15th between 10 p.m. and midnight. If the telephone set is in use the call will be dropped. This reboot is needed to set the telephone handsets so they will reboot automatically in the future after a network or power outage. UPDATE: 3rd floor network connectivity has been returned. Network Services is continuing to work on the problem for 2nd floor of Sanger Hall. They hope to have the problem resolved by morning (Nov. 13).

The ImageNow maintenance scheduled for today, 11/10/07, has been completed and ImageNow is available for login and use.
UPDATE: We want to thank everyone who volunteered to participate in the staff focus groups. Both sessions are filled. Faculty & student focus groups will be taking place after the beginning of the spring semester.

There is a 21/per session limit! We are in the process of redesigning our website (www.ts.vcu.edu) to be more useful and informative for the VCU community and we need input from faculty, staff, and students on their wants, needs and desires. The 12/3 meetings are for STAFF ONLY—we’ll meet with faculty & students next Semester. Susan Gunn of Working Dynamics will moderate the groups; she is great at working with these type of groups and will keep it interesting. Remember the 12/3 session is for STAFF only and there is a 21/per session limit, so register today! The Focus Groups will be held in the Center for Teaching Excellence Conference Room, located on the 4th floor of Cabell Library.
An update to the eID authentication system beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, may cause a brief disruption for users who are trying to log into systems such as Mail Anywhere, myVCU portal, and any other system that uses the eID to log a user in. This should be a brief interruption so if you experience a problem wait a few minutes and try again. Users already logged into systems should not experience any problems.
