UPDATE: The Sophos system appears to be back online and virus definitions can now be downloaded. It may take some time for the server and clients to catch up. Please contact the VCU Help Desk (828-2227, help@vcu.edu) if you experience any additional problems related to this event.
The system that handles the downloading of virus definitions to computers running the Sophos Anti-virus application provided by VCU is currently experiencing issues. User's who have the Sophos Anti-virus client on their computer may find their PC to be unresponsive as the client attempts to download virus definitions from the server. In most cases the computer will become responsive after a short wait and the user can continue to work with their PC. There is nothing that can be done at the PC level to resolve this issue. Technology Services staff is working on a solution so please check back here for updates.
Please contact the VCU Help Desk (828-2227, help@vcu.edu) with any questions concerning this issue.
The system that functions at VCU's eID authentication service is experiencing operational issues this morning. VCUCC staff are working on a solution but no estimated time to completion is available at this time. This may affect users logging into the myVCU portal, VCU Mail Anywhere, Blackboard or other systems utilizing eID to authenticate a user. Since this is an intermittent problem we are suggesting that if a user experiences a problem logging into service, they should wait 5 to 10 minutes and then try to log back in again.
Please check back here for updates. Please contact the VCU Help Desk (828-2227, help@vcu.edu) with any questions.
All servers are available at this time. Individual databases may be undergoing consistency checks. If a consistency check warning is received, you may access your email via your secondary server.
Email Services is working to bring Oak2 back on line. Users should connect to their alternate server, Aspen2, via the Notes client or an IMAP client.

Network Services has reported that one of VCU's two internet gateways to the network outside of the University is down. This appears to be a problem outside of VCU. Network Services staff is working to resolve the problem. Connectivity to the outside network is available via our second internet connection but users may experience slower connection speeds until the problem is resolved. No estimate has been given as to when the issue will be resolved. Please contact the VCU Help Desk (828-2227, help@vcu.edu) with any questions.
