        <![CDATA[<p>Did you see the baracades and the port-o-pot on site?  Now that is what I call progress.  Somehow, it did not take my breath away.         <![CDATA[<p>Bad news folk, the freight elevator sufferd a major blow.  There is a problem with the hydrolics, a problem that will take time, lots of money, and create lots of noise while under repair.</p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<p>Unfortunately, the hydrolics developed a leak.  Most likely this developed from the spring under the Northwest corner of the building.  Additionally, the hydrolic (I guess you call it ) shaft, goes into the ground about forty feet.  Imagine trying to extract that shaft and replace it.  Wow, now that is complex.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>to be removed.  This, is a major first step in the start of the actual physical renovation.  Equally exciting, the VCU Construction supervisor was copied on the message.  The project is out of planning and now into construction.  Please, allow me to say this again-  Construction.</p>]]>

        <![CDATA[<p>Spoke with John Gass, VCU FMD person in charge of planning the renovation project, yesterday.  The provost's office and planning are combining resources to purchase twelve of the Wenger practice module's.  This is great news.  The modules will be used in a temporary site during renovation and then moved to the renovated building.  The four remaining small student practice rooms specified in the planning document will be constructed with standard construction materials.</p>]]>
        <![CDATA[<p>According to Harold P. Geerdes in his book "Music Facilities: Building, Equipping, and Renovation" an institution that places an emphisis on practicing on site, like the university should provide one room for every twenty students.</p>]]>
