Yves Falanga in Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU)

The first official game of the NCAA season 07-08 in the Altell Pavion of the Stuart Siegel Gym (VCU), opposing the VCU men's basketball team and the Maryland Eastern Shore.
Obviously, VCU won 70-41... Obvious ??? Not pretty sure ! But let me remind you that VCU was champion of the CAA 06-07.
It was an amazing game : so many good actions, the Pavion was on fire, RAM's fans burning, ... amazing ! I loved the game.
This picture has been taken by a friend of mine. Up to me, I was in the fifth row on the right of the picture (such a good place, seeing all the field ... missing no action !... lol).

Such a Big Tradition in USA !
For my first real HALLOWEEN, I decided to have the costume of Scream... I was nice but I just recommend you not to do it in coming costume party... In fact, it's very funny to have another face, but it's so hard, painful to breath with that kinda make up...
Everybody, including my roommates and other international students (or trainees) had a costume and played the game. We had a lot of fun !....
We went to an Halloween Party at Kristin's house (the girl with the majorette costume), who is my schoolmate. And once again, we met new people, danced, and had a lot of fun.

Last time it was my birthday Party ! We had a lot of fun... Everybody was so elegantly dressed ! Hummm ....
We met, ate, and pre-gamed in our apartment and used to move to the "Bank", a Club located downtown Richmond. I was very nice ! ... I was so happy to share those moments with people I appreciate.
It was awesome !

It's so wonderful ! You can not figure out how much I am impressed by getting involved in the understanding of life in all of its aspects. The Study of Biological Complexity includes complexity in all of its aspects : from humans to minerals, passing through bugs, flowers, ...
It's so marvelous to see that so many things are very similar in this world, even in the universe, talking about the way they evolve, they expand and they interact each others... First, when I took this class in the Center for the Study of Biological Complexity in VCU, I was just a little bit lost and confused because I wasn't finding any link between life, philosophy, system architecture and agents interactions. But now, I just think that this class is one of the most wonderful I haven't taken in my life : It's Just WOW.
By the way, I am very honored to be taught by Dr Rosen's Associate (Dr Witten).
So, I can give you a piece of advice : read papers related to complexity, system biology, fractals and chaos, ...

Petite escalade, ou plutot petite marche sur une belle pente, dans le Shenandoah National Park (dans l'ouest de la Virginie).
C'etait tres beau ! Il y avait pas mal d'etudiants internationaux. On faisait de notre mieux pour se comprendre, parce que tout le monde n'avait pas subit une decontamination de son accent de base. Les plus marrants etant les italiens ... lol

Ps : au fait, le camping en montagne c'est autre chose. Je vous conseille de prevoir deux sacs de couchage, deux lots de paire de chaussette pour dormir, un bonet, ... et surtout ne pas changer de position qd on dort.. lol. IL FAIT TRES TRES FROID LA NUIT... Et c'est pas tres drole quand on doit se lever le matin pour preparer le petit deuj a tout le monde ... lol

Le weekend dernier on est alle camper en montagne (Appalaches), precisement dans les Blue Ridge Mountains.... On a fait un arret pour visiter the "Grand Carvern", une serie de carvernes dans les appalaches. C'etait tres impressionnant ! J'ai eu enfin l'occasion de voir des Stalactites qui tombent et des stalagmites qui montent (lol). Il faisait tres froid et plus on avancait dans les profondeurs, plus c'etait humide... et en plus, il y avait batman ! (chauve-souris ... pouin pouin pouin .... lol). Claustrophobes s'abstenir ! lol... Mais n'empeche, j'ai eu des sueurs froides un moment ... lol. C'etait tres impressionnant !
